There are so many great resources out there. On this page I'll provide direct links to some of my favorite ones.
Books and websites that I've loved and that I often recommend to clients.
I hope you'll find them beneficial as well.
This book is for anyone looking for deep, personal healing and spiritual transformation. Dave explores four areas of our hearts and the important messages we need from our Father God, and how our human experiences mess them up. He uses relatable stories to discuss the ways we protect our wounded hearts and how we can break free to let God's love fill us to overflowing and solidify our sense of identity, place, purpose, and pleasure.
This site has a wealth of free resources to help understand and employ spiritual warfare tactics. The CLR (confidential life review) really helps identify things in our own history where Satan might have a foothold.
These are some of Neil Anderson's books that have proven the test of time. Bondage Breaker transformed the way I thought about counseling.
I don't know if I can praise these books enough for helping to shift paradigms and guide us in battle on our knees for our most cherished relationships. There's one tailored for everyone.
There are so many reasons I love these books. For starters, they are straightforward with real-life examples, that help you discover the way that you, and each of your family members and friends, receive love best. Then they give you practical examples of how to speak love in that language--to make $100 deposits instead of $5 deposits into each other's love tanks. Originally written for married couples, there is a version for everyone and every relationship including: spouses, parents, children, teens, singles, those struggling with Alzheimer's, those in the military, and even how to apply the principles at work!
They've recently added quizzes that help you identify your primary love language, as well as your apology language, how you handle anger, and how you feel appreciated at work.
Do you think you are born with a certain amount of intelligence and talent, or do you think you can develop past your current skill set? If you haven’t heard of fixed or growth mindset or aren’t sure which applies more to you, have no fears, author Carol Dweck explains them with real life examples and shows you how you too can develop your potential! These transformative concepts affect every area of life and this encouraging book is worth a read or listen.
This is another invaluable resource that I recommend to almost everyone.
Practical examples throughout these books remind us that saying "no" isn't the same as being mean or selfish. These books empower us to set healthy limits without feeling guilty in all areas of life: physical, emotional, and spiritual.
Grief
Tear Soup has long been one of my favorite books about grief. Beautiful illustrations accompany a gentle story covering may different kinds of losses and the emotions and physical effects we experience along the journey.
If you're looking for some practical steps to help you process grief check out my book, Finding Hope.
When the rubber meets the road we find out the fairy tales just aren’t true. “Happily ever after” either doesn’t exist or actually requires a lot of work. But, what if “happily ever after” wasn’t the goal? What if dating, marriage, and parenting were about something much more important than our happiness? These books go deeper than our skin to our souls. They help us discover the meaning and significance that enable us to find purpose, endurance, and joy in the journey of life and relationships.
